Crank 2 Trailer up

available here:  http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/crank-high-voltage/teaser-trailer

Crank 2 doesn’t wow me at all, the action does look good, the use of a hand held camera is very interesting, but i wish they used real. Typical Jason Stathem film, don’t get me wrong, he is a great actor, but he just came off Transporter 3 and now were seeing this. I like it in some ways, but in others it doesn’t impress me.  I hope it’s good, i really do.  2 years after Crank, we will see how this compares to the original

Why I’m angry about the Watchmen trial, but think that Fox is right

We get this news from Splash Page:

”  If last week’s preliminary judgment against Warner Bros in the “Watchmen” court battle wasn’t enough to send comic book fans into a panic, today’s news certainly might do the trick. According to The Associated Press, 20th Century Fox will seek a court order delaying the March 6 release of the much-anticipated adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons‘ graphic novel. ”

Ok, most of us fans of film, if not all, have heard of Zack Snyder’s upcoming film “Watchmen”. I have known about it for about 2 years, and now, it’s most likely going to be put on hold.  Fox first had legal rights, Warner Bros took the film for themselves, now Fox is saying “hey that was ours first!” that’s basically what’s going on.  Fox has the right to take it, veen though i cannot picture this being a film under Fox. But as much as it pains me to say this-it looks like my plans of going to the theater on March 6th of 2009 are done. I hope not-but this may go on for a long time, Warner Bros- just execpt the charges against you so you don’t keep us waiting!

My Bloody Valentine 3D Looks AWESOME

The trailer for “My Bloody Valentine 3D” is impressive.  I first saw it whenI went to see Transporter 3. My first thoughts of the trailer were “lame!” Then I stated paying attention to it. What are my thoughts now….AWEOSME. I think it will be freaking creepy like all of us would love it, it looks like a non stop thrill ride, and i hope this remake will be great. The Friday The 13th remake looks ‘ok’. Too many slasher movies fall down in the dumps because they have no new material. I hope this will have some new material. And….come on..who doesn’t love a good horror film! Obviosuly when you go to a comedy, you want to laugh. An action, you want to be entertained. A horror-you want to be scared. A thriller-you want to be on the edge of your seat. Hopefully this thing will pack the thrills and the scare. Can’t wait!

The Spirit bombs as it opens at 6 Million on opening weekend

Frank Miller and Lionsgate’s new movie “The Spirit” bombed as on it’s oepning weekend it opened with only 6 Million dollars. Word of moukilled it off extremely quickly as the horrid reviews for it quickly made a loud statement. I’ve said before-now i say it yet again: I liked the trailer, thought it looked good, but i had no interest in seeing it. Since tons of people say it sucks, i’ll decide not to waste $6.50 at a matinee for it, i’ll just read a full blown spoiler or somehting. Can anyone believe that Samuel Jackson, THE  Sameul Jackson is in this thing???? That’s a little strange considering the life time gross he has had.  The Spirit, seems like a joke, more like some kid wrote it considering the dilogue in the 6 clips online. the dialogue included “lugnuts”?? I am dead serious. Frank miller- stick with Sin City.

Now as for people like Scarlett Johanson and Eva Mendas in this-why am I not suprised. I’m REALLY glad some of the big superhero studios like Marvel, Dark Horse (somewhat big) and Warner Bros, i’m glad they didn’t pick this up. The fact that this came in NUMBER 7 in it’s opening weekend does not speek volume. I have never really been a fan of  Eva Mendes at all, soit doesn’t suprise me that she is in this. Frank Miller-in order to avoid box ofice failure again….STICK WITH SIN CITY!!!!

Should Nolan consider “The Dark Knight Returns”?

With the amazing sucess of “The Dark Knight”  (my favorite movie of all time), should Nolan consider “The Dark Knight Returns”, which is what we suspect the next title to be.  With the too-great-for-words preforance of the late Heath Ledger as the joker, if Nolan does another one, how the heck do you top this?! I for one have mixed feelings on the subject. Being the fact that The Dark Knight was so amazing, doing a third film without Ledger’s Joker (which is obviously impossible) i’m afraid wouldn’t be as good. Hey, don’t say i don’t believe in Nolan because i do, it’s just the one question that remians in our heads: How the heck do you top The Dark Knight”???!!!

A new update from the never ending Fox/Warner Bros. Battle for Watchmen

this news from CBC News: “A U.S. federal judge has ruled that 20th Century Fox owns a copyright interest in Watchmen, which may jeopardize Warner Bros.’s plan to release the superhero movie in March.

Judge Gary Allen Feess issued the surprise ruling on Wednesday, Variety reported.

“Fox owns a copyright interest consisting of, at the very least, the right to distribute the Watchmen motion picture,” the ruling said.

Judge Feess advised both Fox and Warner to consider either a settlement or an appeal.

Fox acquired rights to the Watchmen graphic adventure novel in the late 1980s for producer Lawrence Gordon. After spending more than $1 million US developing the project, it eventually dropped its plan to make a movie based on the work written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons.

Gordon later carried out the project with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. The movie, about the underside of life for superbeings, was directed by Zack Snyder and stars Patrick Wilson and Jackie Earle Haley. Its release is scheduled for March 6, 2009.

In February, Fox filed a suit to prevent Watchmen from being released. It argued that Gordon’s option to acquire Fox’s remaining interest in Watchmen was never exercised.

Warner spokesman Scott Rowe has declined to comment on the ruling.

The Wall Street Journal says the ruling in favour of Fox comes as a surprise, “given that the studio appeared to have dropped the project more than a decade ago and was not involved in producing the film.”

The Spirit Gets Blasted With Bad Reviews

“The Spirit”, the new Frank Miller film, is getting blasted with terrible reviews. Currently at %15 on the tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes, the Spirit just is continuenly getting beat up all over the place, the small minority of critics like it, even the small minority of fans like it. The film will probably not do well because of it’s awful word of mouth. Stuff like this, can kill a film Mr. Miller. To save yourself-just go see Benjamin Button instead, 10 to 1 you’ll have a better time seeing that. I remember when i first saw the trailer to this film, i actually liked it. However, i had no intrest in wasting 2 hours on it. This is going to be bad, there have been SO many bad reviews, on RT there’s i think 44 bad reviews to 8! OUCH! Negative reviews just keep coming, so i think it’s save to say that, The Spirit is going to bomb!
