Watchmen: My anitcipation and Fears

OK, I’m sorry I haven’t wrote a post in 9 or 10 days…been VERY busy. But, Watchmen comes out this Friday and for the first time i read the novel, it was amazing, so how will it appear on the big screen? Well, to say I’m excited isn’t true, I’m more pumped than this then I was for The Dark Knight but how can one help it? the trailer is amazing, early reviews have been good and bad. Snyder has said that they stayed VERY true to the novel, but have they stayed too close? We will see, Rotten Tomatoes it had 64%, so that is a little scary. Yes, I have read the novel and it was a flash of genius, it really was. Snyder IS the perfect dude for directing this, I think he is the best director who has his films visuals his number one concern, except this, which was sticking to the novel. I go tommorow at 3:35, and cannot wait, I will have a review up, promise. Now, a few interesting things to get to, I have heard Malin Ackerman’s performance as Silk Spectre  II wasn’t good, and I won’t be suprised if it isn’t, I hope it’s good, but if it’s not it won’t come as a shock. ONe thing I have to say about the clips I have seen with Matthew Goode in them, well, I’m not impressed so far.

. Now, for the four performances I am looking forward to the most: Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian, Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan, and Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl. Now, I heard Patrick steals the show, but I also heard Jackie does too, but if Jeffrey plays a great comedian, then for me he will steal the show, but as of now, I think, for me, Patrick Wilson will steal the show, then Jackie. One last thing to talk about, the people who have read the novel and who haven’t. As I stated before, I have read the graphic novel, so I won’t be lost, but one thing I worry about is the people who haven’t read it, they might be so lost, maybe not. To them, if they don’t like it, they will come out saying “What the?” but they don’t know what they are missing if they haven’t read it. I am hoping it’s great, One concern I have is about sticking too close to the novel, and Matthew Goode’s performance. I have faith in Snyder, he’s one of my favorites, next time you hear from me, I will have already seen Watchmen!

YEAR OF THE SLUMDOG

Slumdog Millionaire wins best picture, just like I thought.  I was voting for Sean Penn, and yes! He won, rightfully so too. Slumdog stole nearly every nomination, I am so happy for everyone involved, Milk was great, but I was pulling for Slumdog, it’s 2008’s cinderalla story. The film was supposed to go to DVD, but didn’t. It was supposed to go to the ’slums’ but ended up winning it all, ironic, because the film is about that. What a show! Hugh Jackman did awesome, it was all entertaining leading up to the big moment. Congrats to Danny Boyle, for best director. Hey, I didn’t vote for Kate Winslet, but I could not be happier for her. She finally got an Oscar, great job (even though I didn’t like “The Reader”) still, I’m so glad.It was  Slumdog Vs. Milk, it seemed. I am pretty sure Milk came in second. Milk won some great awards to, such as “Best Screenplay”, I mean wow, this is such an awesome film. It was a great night, and oh! How could I forget that Heath won! He got a standing ovation and everything, I am so happy. The night could not have gone better, pretty much everything I voted for won! But I was pretty sure that Slumdog was going to win, such a dream come true for them. Wow, what an awesome night. Thanks for reading our Oscar coverage guys.

Why Sean Penn Will Win Best Actor At The Oscars

It’s finally that time, people say the best supporting actress battle is the toughest this year, but besides best picture, I don’t know how you could say “Rourke vs. Penn” isn’t the hardest. To be fair to Mickey rourke, I have not seen The Wrestler but I have heard his preformance is amazing. However, Sean Penn did such an AMAZING job as San Fransico’s first gay official “Harvey Milk”. I just know he will win, but not by much. Why? Hello! Gay rights? Hollywood? You see the connection there? It was a moving peice of film that I don’t understand how anyone didn’t like it. One of the best, if not the best,  film(s) of the year. I have been ranting on how amazing the movie is, and how awesome Sean Penn was, obviously he is my vote hands down.  “MILK” is a milestone of a movie, and I’m glad it was made. Nobody else could resemble such an important figure, than Sean Penn himself.  I will be cheering so much when I see him win, yes, I’m that sure of it. Tommorow (on a little side note), I will have another pre-oscar video. I will talk more about this. No other soul deserves this award than Sean Penn himself. Milk-great movie, great acting. Trust me, after muchthought, I just really am sure of this.

Observe And Report Trailer Online

http://www.austinchronicle.com/binary/643b/scaled.Observe_and_Report_Publicity_Still.jpg

This is the newest Seth Rogen comedy, also with Anna Faris ( The House Bunny). It really does look pretty funny in some parts, but serious in other parts. Seth Rogen, in the trailer, seems serious in some parts, showing he might be able to do more than comedy. So, maybe he would do a good job playing THE GREEN HORNET(an upcoming superhero film) but Rogen has never gone out of the comedy zone. He, in my opinion, is the king of comedy right now. So, he really might be able to do more than I thought he could. But yes, the trailer looks funny, and serious, overall looks to be a good film

Watchmen Movie Clip Online

 http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/34260/watchmen/videos/watchmen_rescue_021809.html

The above link is to the Watchmen clip “Rooftop Rescue”, it features Silk Spectre and Nite Owl (I think that’s how you spell his name, I don’t think it’s spelled like “Night”) trying to save people from a burning building. The above picture is in the clip too, that part is anyway. OK, you guys know my hype for Watchmen is through the roof, but this clip, just made the expectation even HIGHER! That was such an awesome clip, I don’t even know where to begin. Hmm…a 1 minute and something second clip, and a two minute trailer, and I am already impressed. But, I know not to get too too excited for this, because when I came out of THE DARK KNIGHT, I liked it but I was dissapointed, because my hype for it was too high. I still liked it, but not as much as I thought, but when I stopped and thought, I LOVED LOVED LOVED The Dark Knight, one of the best of 2008. So Watchmen looks awesome, we shall see, and only 17 days left to go….the agony…

Friday The 13th Review

The plot to this is pretty simple, and if you have ever seen a slasher film, that’s the plot. Pretty darn simple.

So, the new installment of Jason, what did I think? It was awesome. I’m glad it was too. It’s fun, gory and pretty much everything you could want from Jason. He kills, kills some more, then kills again. I could see sequels to this, I really could. But, is it better than My Bloody Valentine 3D? Well, they are about equal, however, yes this is better. They had interesting traps in this installment, a good ending too that (possible spoiler) screams sequel. Now, I did have one little problem. They always make the victims dumb! Please, just one smart victim. Well, there was one. Anyway, it was great, and 50 million opening weekend is great for this. Easily this will get well over 100 million, and it might be on top next week. Pretty interesting film here, I enjoyed it, right off the bat. This thing starts off running from the beginning and never really slows down all that much.

All in all, Friday The 13th is so far the best horror movie of the year, My Bloody Valentine 3D following closely behind. Friday The 13th gets a 8.5 out of 1o

Action Bomb Live

Push Review: “Push” Doesn’t Budge

Push is about people with powers, of course what I just told you is very basic, and the rest  really is way into detail to tell.

So, what did I think about “Push”? Well…..nope, not good. 3/4 of the film I didn’t even like. Of course, the powers are awesome, the graphics are alright at best, but like I said, the powers are awesome. That’s the problem! I think they relied way too much on the powers and the graphics to win over the audience. Some of the stuff is really cool though, like controling guns with your mind, seeing into the future, that kind of stuff. It is action packed….but here’s what happened. 75% of the film, well, sucked. Ok, maybe not sucked, but wasn’t to good. Then, the thing that saves Push from a 1 on the 1-10 grading scale is this: The climax was good. Really good. That’s what got my attention. But, still there was messy things everyone, Too many characters to remember! I think the script was messy, and the ending, I guess leaves you hanging. Spoiler alert, but not really. There will most likely be a seqeul, based on the ending. Graphics were good though, but in the end, Push doesn’t budge.

“Push” was Ok at best, messy, and relies too much on the graphics. Overall, I give Push a solid 3.5 out of 10

Coraline Review

Thanks for checking out Action Bomb’s review of “Coraline”.

Basically, Coraline is about a girl named Coraline Jones, and she finds a door in her house leading to another world. Basically everyone in the real world is in this other world, but they are dolls with black buttons for eyes.

I didn’t think Coraline would be to good at first, but boy I was wrong! It’s amazing. It’s so good, it might be the best movie of 2009 so far. If not the best, one of the best. It’s visuals are stunning. It is worth an Oscar, like the commercial says. This is such an early call, but it might end up being the best animated film of the year, if Pixar’s “Up”, and “Monster’s Vs. Aliens” turn out to be busts. The colors, oh man! The colorful world they made was awesome, the songs were so wonderful. This is such an amazing film that shocked me, it’s smart, funny sometimes, and imaginative.  It is dark though, so kids, young kids, might get scared. I’m suprised they allowed some of that stuff in there, but they managed too. Picking the thing that I didn’t like about Coraline is so hard, but….I think it was slow getting to where it needed to go in the beginning. I guess I didn’t care for some things towards the end, and some things seemed confusing. But it’s awesome, and I think it will be nominated for some kind of Oscar next year. Go see Coraline! It’s better than Wall-e (Which I think is good but overrated). Coraline is an amazing movie.

All in all, I thought Coraline is wonderful and great. Sure, it took a bit too long getting to where it needed to go, some things were confusing, and a thing I can’t put my finger on that I didn’t like towards the end, but it’s wonderful.

Overall, I give Coraline a 8.9 out of 10.
